Before I was ever on a road bike, I had heard a lot about the Tour Paramedic Ride from friends in my hometown of Ottawa. While attending a mutual friend’s wedding, I was easily convinced by two TPR members, Meg Cashman and Mike Foley, to take part in the 2014 Ride. The friendships made from across Canada and the United States on that initial Ride were phenomenal and ever-lasting. I am a strong believer in working together and taking the time to honour our fallen comrades and to build this national memorial monument in Ottawa. I also believe in the beneficial side effects of this ride; the building of long-lasting friends and family from coast to coast and the benefit of physical exercise while having a lot of fun. This is exactly what the paramedic profession needs.
